First Day in Beijing

I arrived Beijing this afternoon. This is the first time I come to the head of China in terms of politics, but my first impression was ruined by the pilot of Air China. The final approach was the worst I have experienced in recent years. It was extremely bumpy and shaky although the weather was actually good. The plane was moving so terrible that I even got motion sickness. However, the new terminal made the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) very impressive. Modern and huge are the facilities, with many beautiful young girls wearing volunteer vests to help travelers, it seems this time China really wants to show the world it is modern and friendly. Ironically, there will be more random inspection in central Beijing, especially in the Tiananmen Square for security concerns. Thanks to those big countries (or, USA if only to name one) who made the world so unsafe!

I will be busy for the next few days and I'm not sure if I will have time to write, so don't miss me too much if anyone is reading, ha!

Wait and See

Today, we have a new president for the next four years. Many people hope that the results of the two recent elections will push Taiwan back on track and bring better life. Will it happen? I'm watching you, President Ma.

Taipei Tree Frog

Last week I finally saw my first frog in Fu Yang Park, which is an important habitat of Taipei Tree Frog. My son saw his first frog couple months ago on his second visit, but I never saw any before when I visited the park. On the contrary, I saw snakes more often. This time I finally met one, when I did not have my camera with me. The photo was taken with my cell phone, so it was hard to control what I captured. Can you find the frog?

Yoshi's Ten Month Gift

Last week, my son turned ten-month old. In celebration, he got the first flu in his life. I suspect the he got it from his mom, who has been a lot weaker due to stress and fatigue since we had a child to look after. He gradually began to cough, sneeze, and today he got fever. My wife is very upset and nervous, and I believe we will have argues under the tension.
